On first inspection it turns out to be not a bad example, having only completed 58000 k's in it's 26 years of existence.
The ignition key switch was stolen in back in 2007 and the bike has not been started or riden since then, it has just resided under a cover in a car port.
Before dismantling I decide the it would be prudent to ensure that it starts and runs with no problems, so I pull the 30Ah battery out of the old girl for a charge and discover that it is completely stuffed, certainly no surprise.
A quick web search revealed the wiring diagram for the missing key switch and with the help of a couple electrical connectors she is hot wired and ready to connected with some jumper leads to our trusty pajero.
Expecting some difficulty getting her started I tentatively pressed the starter, to my suprise the engine sparked to life and sat there idleing, not bad for 7 years of sitting and stale fuel in the tank.
Now the dismantling can begin.
