A Hectic week

Last night the kids and I dropped my wife to the airport, she will be spending the next 10 days in Cambodia helping a volunteer team with NGO " Restore one charity". Meanwhile I have three beautiful little people to tend to. This may slow my k75 progress somewhat. Prior to my wife's trip, the speedo has arrived and has been mounted. Worried that is sitting too high so I have made some lowering brackets. I made a YouTube review of the speedo, It should come up is you search " danmoto speedo" I will post the link later.

Lost Blogging Momentum.

It's true I have lost my blogging momentum.... and not because I don't enjoy sharing, it's just that since the Blogger app has been removed from the apple app store (I assume some sort of apple google thing) I find getting the laptop out just a little tedious and inconvenient, Blogging straight off the iPhone was just so easy. Whinge over... Some time ago I fabricated a number plate holder, I scoured the interweb to find a ready made unit, however I couldn't find anything suitable. So here is what I have come up with. A rough sketch first on some leftover aluminium. Cutout with a hack saw and rounded with a belt sander, now for polishing. I added the number plate base off a unit that I had previously purchased and could not alter to fit, seems to work and looks reasonably good.

Seat Carving

Still struggling with a serious lack of time, we start on our home extension in two weeks. This has resulted in my shed/workshop being very over crowded due to the demolition of two smaller shed to make way for the extension. I have however managed to start carving the seat. After the initial knife shaping it, I finished up with the 4 inch grinder with a sanding disk. Then added a thin foam over the top to smooth out the imperfections. Finding it hard to visualize the stiching, I decided to draw some on. The final finish will be black leather with red and natural stiching. Next step Is to build the seat pan.
